Supporting Agriculture and Rural America
FCS
Southwest vigorously supports agricultural organizations and youth agricultural
activities that promote awareness of the broad range of agriculture in
the Southwestern United States, such as:
- Lend
a Hand! Farm
Credit supports efforts for military personnel, Tempe residents. Farm
Credit Services Southwest often lends a hand to various community programs,
sometimes beyond our local service area. Click
here for two examples of recent efforts.
- Young
Farmer/Rancher Executive Institute. The financial and business management
training for young farmers and ranchers from Arizona and California's
Imperial County is a three day program usually held in the spring, in
San Diego, CA. This program has received national recognition. Click
here to see how national recognition was received. Click

Farmer/Rancher Institute.
- Annual
Customer Appreciation BBQs. Every year we organize an appreciation
day at our branch locations to say "thank you" to our member-borrowers.
Everyone has a great time at these fun annual events.
- Mid-Winter
California State Fair, Imperial, Calif. We provide clerking and
processing services for fair participants of the junior livestock barn
sale and sponsor a BBQ luncheon during the junior livestock action.
We also co-sponsor a petting zoo.
- 4-H/F.F.A.
Program. Our financial management education program helps 4-H
and FFA members learn about managing credit and about our commitment
to financing agriculture. We also lend support to livestock auctions
and 4-H award programs.
- Memberships
in Ag Organizations. We support the fine work of ag organizations
throughout the Southwest through our membership and participation, including
the Ag Business Council; Arizona Cattle Feeders, Cattle Growers and
Cotton Growers organizations; Cattlemen's Club; several chambers of
commerce, Farm Bureaus and Rotary Clubs; the Holstein Association; the
Jersey Association; the National Cattlemen; and Phoenix Cotton Women;
to name just a few of our associations.
- Financial
Contributions to Ag Organizations. We also donate tens of thousands
of dollars annually to support and sponsor outstanding contributions
that hardworking organizations make to the industries we serve.
- Maricopa
County Fair—Jr. Livestock Auction. We sponsored a free tri-tip
BBQ luncheon for the buyers and raised $1,450 for the Maricopa County
Scholarship Fund.
