Gary Dyer Named to Federal Commission

Association President and CEO Gary Dyer was appointed to a 10-member Commission on Application of Payment Limitations by the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture.

Gary was selected to represent Southwest agricultural industries because of his considerable knowledge of farm programs and his understanding of how government payments affect farm income, rural communities, land values and agribusiness. After more than a year of debate and study, the Commission produced a report, filled with recommendations that will help shape the future of agricultural policy in the new Farm Bill.

According to his work on the Commission, Gary said, “I brought my familiarity with farm program benefits and an individual producer’s ability to secure adequate financing to my role on the Commission. I enjoyed representing the Southwest and its diverse agricultural production.”
