11th Young Farmer & Rancher Executive Institute Set for February

Farm Credit’s 11th Annual Young Farmer & Rancher Executive Institute will be held in San Diego, Calif., February 28, 29 and March 1, 2008.

The institute provides extensive outreach into the agricultural community and helps young farmers and ranchers lay their foundations for entrepreneurial success. The program is designed for 30 young farm, ranch and dairy operators (usually between the ages of 25 and 35), their spouses and parents.

Since the Young Farmer & Rancher Executive Institute began in 1994, 231 participants have graduated from this nationally recognized program. The conference leads participants through strategic business planning activities and discussions on family business dynamics. The program’s principal facilitators are Dr. David Kohl, a leader in agricultural finance and small business management, and Dr. Donald J. Jonovic, an expert in family businesses and the transitioning of assets from one generation to another. Both are nationally acclaimed experts, authors and educators.
